Confused Disko

20-20 Vision have dropped this compilation of goodies exclusively for Juno and it's packed full of disco goodness from beginning to end. With Chicken Lips, Prins Thomas, Crazy P, Maurice Fulton and Lindstrom amongst others all on board, you know this is going to be something pretty special. Fulton's mix of Fred Everything's Elevate starts things off perfectly.
Originally a hook up with funk supremos The New Mastersounds, plenty of the fatback drums and bass are left in and given lots of room to breathe by Fulton. On a different vibe, Random Factor's What I Need is given a spacey extension by Chicken Lips who pack in a range of disco treats into their mix - check out the way they subtly switch up the bassline half way through.

Coming across at times like a dub version of Chic and Diana Ross' I'm Coming Out, the Unabombers mix of Crazy P's Love On The Line keeps in plenty of chanking guitars and keeps the vocals delayed and trippy. Francisco's Hero is another step sideways, playing with more of an Italo vibe while still keeping things deep and driving. Lindstrom's mix of Silver City's Down 'Til 7 is another delight, sounding more like a funky rock band of the 70's than anything else - yet another reason to bow down to Lindstrom's dizzying skills. With so many good tunes on offer, this is a must hear collection for anyone with an eye and and ear for quality new disco.
