Chris Nemmo - The Nautilus Project

Its around 6 years since the release of Chris Nemmo debut album Forbidden Paths on Klik Records. On the 17ht of May the Athenean label proudly presents the long awaiting album by the talented Greek Artist. After experimenting through different electronic dance genres and releasing material in several record labels worldwide, Chris Nemmo (a.k.a Christos Panagiotopoulos) presents his second personal album, this time creating a nu-disco/funk amalgamation. The album consists of several different aspects of the scene, employing dirty funky basslines, reminiscent vintage melodies and atmospheric vocals in an effort to simulate a warm analog perception of the disco groove and aesthetics.

Antoni Maiovvi - Zulawski

Skin crawling, Giallo electro badness from Maiovvi creeping out from under the spider-infested mat on Michael Mayer and Jon Berry's Italo/horror label Fright. Gripped by quiet violence and sensual chaos, transporting listeners to a darkly glamourous place that has only ever truly existed inside the fertile minds of madmen like John Carpenter, Mario Bava, Argento, Simonetti.   Buy Vinyl

Lauer - Delta NRG

Phillip Lauer is a Frankfurt-based producer, musician and DJ and a name to be remembered. Growing up with a strict musical diet of hip hop and punk rock, Phillip soon also discovered the amenities of electronic music, sparked by releases of the label Ladomat and the legendary club Robert Johnson (where Phillip runs his own Brontosaurus label night). In the late 90s, after hiring himself out as a bassist and drummer for several bands, Phillip started to produce his own tracks, all of which already bore Phillip's special imprint and were released on labels such as Real Soon, Separe Recordings or Punkt Music.

6th Borough Project – Part Five

6th Borough Project return to Instruments Of Rapture to deliver up their 3rd release for the Scottish label. “Part 5” delivers up 3 sublime disco cuts, which I guess is what we have come to expect from the production duo of Craig Smith & Graeme Clark (aka the label owner, aka “The Revenge”).

Holy Ghost! - Static On The Wire

With a name alphabetically filed between Hot Chip and Holy Fuck, a single called "Hold On," a DFA label association and time spent providing live support to LCD Soundsystem and The Juan Maclean, Holy Ghost! give some pretty clear insight into their artistic personality on incidentals alone. Based on that information, it should be abundantly clear that the New York duo of Alex Frankel and Nick Millhiser get their kicks in fluid basslines, handclaps, conga and slithering, sexy disco beats. Holy Ghost! is a DFA band alright, and their EP Static On the Wire stands as yet another stellar debut for the influential and highly acclaimed New York label.

Sixth June - Everytime

Sixth June is a duo from Serbia that have just released their debut LP on the Genetic Music sublabel No Emb Blanc. Even before the LP came out they had some very nice video tracks circulating on the internet. These served as teasers for the upcoming album, and even more as the songs featured were really good.

Any fan of some good old elektro wave will have to dig this. It is nothing new but it is done with conviction and that is what you hear througout the album. Eleven melancholy tracks, which at times are down tempo but also some real dancefloor fillers, come and go and lead you the way into a mellow state of mind.

A Mountain Of One - Institute Of Joy Remix EP

**White Vinyl** Further remixes of track from A Mountain Of One's critically acclaimed 'Institute Of Joy' album courtesy of The Time And Space Machine, Tiedye, Richard Gateaux and the F.O.R.C project on ltd white vinyl. Richard Norris follows up his recent album with a similarly tailored psyche mix of 'Bones', folowed by IDIB regulars Tiedye on a Balearic sunset mix of the same cut. Richard Gateaux's version of 'Ahead Of The Curve' is by far the best here, doing a dark and slow EBM tinted mix, while party collective F.O.R.C bring a cosmopolitan modern disco style.

The Kenneth Bager Experience - Kaos

The MUSIC FOR DREAMS label boss/DJ/producer drops this ltd. ed 3 track EP. The bumpy electronic club groover “FRAGMENT 31 (KAOS)(BAGER VS ZOHDY MIX)", the dubby, slick & laidback vocal cut “FRAGMENT 13 (GO UNDERGROUND)” which has a vocal that sounds a lot like JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE** , and the PILOOSKI DUB of “FRAGMENT 8 (SOUND OF SWING)". 2010 is KBE’s year!

Finally! Here is the fourth chapter of Radio Cosmos’ “Synth …” series – another wonderful compilation fueled with a blend of electropop, italo disco, electronic(a) pop or whatever you wanna call this soup of synthetic sound emissions, this time on 2 colour vinyls and as always with fab artwork by Gil Formosa. Once again the compilation is kicked off by Dutchman Boele Berkes’ just wonderful project S.C.D and he just knows how to catch Anna – “Cwejmansong” is a wonderful piece of brilliant instrumental new age-electropop paying homage to the Cwejman S1 mk2 analog modular synthesizer and basically alone worth the buy.

LCD Soundsystem - This Is Happening

After seeing James Murphy in concert back in 2007, I was blown away by LCD Soundsystem’s ability to infuse emotion into the beats of an album meant for the dance floor. The one-man studio band’s sophomore album, Sound of Silver — now looked at as one of the decade’s best albums — stayed with me for a while, a nine-track masterpiece.

So Murphy already has a reputation for creating electronic music with heart and soul. After penning decade defining, introspective songs that will surely stay with us for years to come, you’d think James Murphy is done with the snarky, hipper-than-thou music geek vibe that so defined LCD’s self-titled debut, right?

Not entirely. This Is Happening, LCD Soundsystem’s third and potentially final album, is literally split down the middle. Not loaded from front to back with with witty, biting reality check jams that made up the self-titled LP, nor crammed with the dance-fused, 70’s art-rock anthems of Silver — Happening is half and half. LCD Soundsystem’s brief, but influential discography summarized neatly, in just over an hour.

IT'S A SMALL WORLD DISCO - They Call It Edit

Side A, features They Call It Edit. This goes out to the Disco lovers, this track follows that blueprint. Echoes of Disco-Funk and Boogie blend perfectly into House. The recurrent mad bongo drumming it’s terrific! 2500 Clicks On Soundcloud and counting !!! Side B, presents At The Disco. Deeper and darker, the beat is non-stop to make you sweat on the floor, loads of hands clapping. The strength of the track is in that “rocky” guitar, still very funky. Then the male chorus drags the tune along to the very end. This one is for the tireless dancers.

Roberto AUSER & ALDEN TYRELL - Blondes & Brunettes

New disco meets techno and early house when Roberto Auser and Alden Tyrell get on the groove for Bearfunk. Alden's Club mix of "Blondes & Brunettes(1)" catches the Rotterdam based duo in action, utilizing this combination for a cool and hazy effect on the dancefloor. The Roberto's Bar mix(2) has more a straight forward 4x4 pulse, while label head Steve Kotey(3) injects a bit of disco and live party ambience into the mix. One for the night people.
